Good morning,
We are trying to receive a grant to help us promote safe walking and bike riding to school. We already have several walkers and riders so this would just be formalizing the process to ensure our students are safe and to try and get even more students to either walk or bike. The grant could come in the form of large monetary sums to change infrastructure (which we do not really need) or a smaller sum to enhance safety and bike support (eg, bike rack out front, pay for safety monitors at routes farther than our direct eyesight, bike repair and maintenance, etc.). There are also many more benefits to partnering with Michigan’s Safe Routes initiative.
