Dear Nowlin Parents and Guardians,
The start of the 2019-20 school year is upon us. I would like to welcome all of the new students and families to Nowlin Elementary. We look forward to building a strong working relationship with each and every one of you. The first day went well and we are extremely excited for the coming school year.
Our enrollment continues to fluctuate and we will keep a close eye on the class sizes during the first week of school. We continue to have numerous students enroll as I type this post. As the enrollment numbers change, this means that we could be adding another class or creating a split classroom. If either situation were to happen we would have a seamless transition that would not interrupt your child’s learning. It is our hope that families continue to enroll at Nowlin and our building continues to grow in size.
I am very proud to continue our school’s tradition of offering an excellent academic and social emotional education. We plan to build upon our successes from last school year. We will continue to increase academic achievement; continue to increase our students social emotional well being; continue to collaborate with Wayne State University; continue to build on our STEM offerings; continue to offer co-teaching in several classrooms; continue to visit families at home; continue to ensure that our students feel safe walking/riding to and from school; and continue to build our relationships with our families and community members.
I look forward to working with all of the students, their families, and community members to further enhance the outstanding school program at Nowlin Elementary during the 2019-20 school year.
