Dear Families,
In conjunction with the PTA, Nowlin would like to start a modified version of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program to see if there is much interest. This is an opportunity for Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, and other male figures to help at school and provide positive male role models for all students.
We are looking for male figures to volunteer during lunch/recess. This provides an opportunity to get to know our students, interact with them in a less formal setting and get an understanding of the environment. However, if you feel the classroom is where you’d like to volunteer we are more than happy to accommodate. You just won’t be placed in your child’s classroom.
Please think about participating in this excellent opportunity to spend a little time with your child and to provide positive interactions with all students. The commitment can be made once or repeatedly. It all depends on your availability. All participants will need an iChat form on file in the office. Feel free to get one from the office if you know you are interested. We will also talk about it during our informational meeting.
We will schedule a meeting in December to share ideas and get the ball rolling! We intend to have things set up to begin in January.
