DEARBORN BOY SCOUT TROOP CELEBRATES 90th ANNIVERSARY

-TROOP 1104 SEEKS FORMER SCOUTS TO PARTICIPATE IN EVENT FEB 17, 2019

Dearborn’s oldest Boy Scout Troop is celebrating 90 years of providing boys – and now girls – exceptional leadership, educational and outdoor experiences.  Troop 1104 will be hosting a celebratory event on Sunday, February 17thand are looking to connect with as many former Scouts as possible as part of the event.

The 90th Anniversary Celebration will start at 9:30 a.m. and is being held at the First United Methodist Church of Dearborn, 22124 Garrison Street, Dearborn, MI. Former Scouts are encouraged to contact the current Troop Scoutmaster, Joe Adams  at 313-641-6416 if they wish to participate in the ceremonies or want to share their memories of the Troop. Former Scouts may also contact the Troop via Facebook or their website (www.bsatroop1104.com).

Troop 1104 awarded their very first Eagle Scout in 1932 to Mark Sponeburgh. Since then, the Troop has honored over 160 Scouts with their Eagle Scout patch and pin, with the most recent being Nathaniel Ferguson earning his rank in May, 2018 (#165).

The Boy Scout Troop’s associated Cub Scout Pack, Pack 1112, made history in 2018 as being the first Cub Scout Pack in Michigan to induct 9 girls into the program. Both Troop 1104 and Pack 1112 are model Scouting organizations recognized nationally for their programs, leadership and all-inclusiveness. Starting in February, BSA Troop 11104 will be launching an all-girl Troop, Troop 9-1104, in which many of those girls who joined as Cub Scouts will now cross over into the newly created Scouts BSA program.
