Three Items

Please remember to vote on February 27th.

  • The District will be asking residents to RENEW an already existing Operational Millage that has been part of our per student funding since 1995.
  • The Operational Millage is a RENEWAL of an existing millage that was first passed in 1994 when the State of Michigan changed how schools were funded. The millage needs to be renewed every 10 years and was renewed in 2004 and 2014.
  • This is NOT A BOND proposal. This is NOT to build new schools, add on to existing schools, add air conditioning, cameras, or anything related to big capital improvements.  The Operational Millage Renewal is part of the General Fund budget that is used to run the district. It helps to pay for salaries, utility bills, classroom supplies, busing, books, etc.
  • The Operational Millage brings in $41 million to our General Fund budget, that is 16% of the budget.
