Good morning,
I hope that this blog post finds you and your family doing well. As you know, our transition to virtual learning for special area classes (pe, art, music) has faced a few challenges (from waiver forms to zoom links errors to debate of how much screen time and anything in between). I want to thank you all for your patience as we work out these kinks.
This process has been a bit clunky because we are trying to create the best plan possible for all involved. We definitely could have gone the easier route of providing prerecorded lessons for your child to watch at their leisure but what we really wanted was to provide a live experience. For some children, pe, art, or music is something that they truly look forward too and we want to honor and support those experiences. Unfortunately, the timeframe that we have to offer these experiences is very limited and working out the logistics has been a large part of our issues.
Now having written all of the above, I think we have worked out the majority of the logistics and technical issues. The special areas received extensive training yesterday. If bumps still happen please be patient and communicate with the specials teachers so they know what needs to be fixed. This is all new to them as well. If you find yourself frustrated, it is okay to walk away and try again tomorrow. Below is the schedule so you know when your child has their special. This will also be communicated in class.
